Brand Identity
Through Customer Reviews
Are you looking for an easy, cost-effective way to determine your brand identity? Utilizing customer feedback to understand how others perceive your brand can help guide your brand direction. In this blog post, we’ll walk you through a simple process for determining your brand identity using customer reviews.
This is by far not the only way, but it is very efficient and quite quick. The benefit of this method is that you can see who you are through the eyes of your customers. Using their feedback to determine your brand identity will help you pick the right direction. At the end of the day, a brand is not who you say you are. It´s what they think you are.
Here is a quick instruction:
Go to your reviews
- Read each and every one of them
- Highlight and copy-paste keywords (and short phrases) in a separate document
- You will most likely see that they can be grouped into 3-4 categories
- Rephrase and shorten if needed
- You are done ;)
What do you do with this information:
- Establish who you are as a brand
- Change direction if you don´t like these
- Embrace them if you do like them
- You can use them as your USP
- Use them to establish your brand voice
P.S. This process is also perfect for determining people´s pain points. Those who are worried about quality will most likely talk about that. Those who will pay extra for good customer service will talk about how amazing yours was, etc.
PPS: pain points can be transformed into solid stories for your marketing. But that´s for another day.
