Five and a Half
Emerging Trends That Promise Profitable Returns
As I said before, I really enjoy looking at trends. Mostly for that precious “I told you so feeling”. So here are the five trends that are on the rise and have the potential to be highly profitable in the coming years:
Foods in Frozen Blocks:
Avoiding food waste is a behavioural pattern that is becoming more and more widespread. This isn´t just because of the environmental issues, but also because a. Buying in bulk is cheaper, and b. Families are becoming smaller, and more people are creating families much later. Therefore, they just don’t need as much food. It can be anything from herbs to stews and casseroles. There is an endless variety of dishes that can be made and sold in frozen blocks.
Nut Milk Maker Kits:
Whether you like it or not, there are more and more people every day who start to limit their meat and dairy consumption. Also, nut milks add a great variety to people´s diet. However, these nut milks are not cheap. They are also often full of unnecessary ingredients. So many turn to creating their nut milk at home. There are literally limitless options for these kits: different type of nuts (and seeds), different extra flavourings, such as natural vanilla, date or perhaps mango puree… I can go on and on… With the rise in veganism and plant-based diets, nut milk maker kits have a promising future in the business world.
Waterless Food & Beauty:
This trend focuses on creating products that don’t require water or very little water to produce or use. The idea behind it is to reduce water consumption and create a more sustainable future. From waterless shampoo bars to dehydrated foods, there is an array of products that can be created and sold within this market. I personally already tried some, and I love it. It just makes you feel better about yourself, and also very convenient for travelling, which is also increasing.
Multifunctional Furniture:
Rising housing and gas prices, as well as rising population make people move into smaller spaces. That is why multifunctional furniture is becoming increasingly popular as people are looking for ways to save space and create a more functional living environment. From couches that can turn into beds to coffee tables that can transform into a desk, the world is your oyster.
Mocktails:
Yep…I don´t get it either, but that’s a fact. The new generation is more health conscious, which makes the non-alcoholic beverages market grow. Mocktails are the perfect solution for those who want to enjoy a drink without alcohol. There are even non-alcoholic bars opening across the world. Again, possibilities are endless, sweet or savoury…it’s a great opportunity if you are looking into a startup.
Bonus: Lab-grown meat. This is no secret anymore, so if you have the resources to start this kind of business and compete – it’s definitely going to be a win.
There you go…Which one do you think has the most potential?
